Aeon Core was founded on a simple frustration: the fire retardants people could actually buy were either toxic, ugly, or both. Halogenated sprays that poison the air when they burn. Thick intumescent paints that ruin the look of wood and fabric. And for everyday materials — furniture, curtains, packaging, books — often nothing practical at all.
So our team turned to layered double hydroxides (LDH): an engineered mineral chemistry that fights fire physically, by absorbing heat and releasing water vapour, instead of relying on toxic halogen chemistry. The result is Aeon Core — a halogen-free, non-toxic, water-based gel that dries clear and protects the materials fires spread through fastest.
Every claim we make is backed by data. We've characterized the material with XRD, TGA, FTIR and DLS, and run proof-of-concept fire tests on wood, paper and card. We publish that data openly on our results page because fire safety is not a place for marketing spin.
